At the end of every cycle, the children will be given a thesis to execute. It will be carefully crafted to help them put into practice the lessons they have learnt during their time at the Academy. The Blue Flame Awards will be the final phase of their thesis. It will be different from other awards in objective as well as focus. Unlike typical award ceremonies, these awards will be spearheaded by the children in the BLUE CORPS themselves and will be targeted towards other citizens of this nation (old or young). During this ceremony, the Academy will not award the young delegates any accolades. The academy will instead empower them to award other citizens outside the walls of the academy. Citizens who exemplify the ideals they have been taught. Every child, as part of their thesis, will be tasked with the responsibility of finding a citizen of the Republic of Nigeria who they believe is deserving of this award and the benefits that pertain thereto.

THE BATTLE OF THE DESERVING.

Having done the leg work of finding a citizen (living or dead) who is worthy of the Blue Flame Award along with its attendant benefits, each child will be called on to defend their choice. The point of this exercise is to familiarize them with the reality of scarcity of resources. They will learn the painful truth that sometimes, even though a person deserves something, the resources to help them may be stretched thin because of competing interests, forcing a choice between who to empower and who leave with nothing. Each child will be tasked with defending their choices before a panel of their peers as well as other young citizens within the LAM Academy. Whoever wins the ‘Battle of the Deserving’ will have won the opportunity to become a member of ‘The Benevolent’
